SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:

Coordinates activities involved with pricing and issuing PO's for items such as raw materials, outside processing services, equipment, tooling, components, packaging, hardware and maintenance supplies.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Reviews job travelers. Confirms with suppliers pricing and lead time for assigned commodity purchases.

* For all other purchases confirms pricing, lead time and availability of goods.

* Expedites services or goods purchases as needed based on customer or internal demand.

* Work with Kamet drivers regarding pickup and delivery needs.

* Provides necessary delivery schedule updates to manufacturing and customer service.

* Attends MRB meetings and assist with disposition of non-conforming materials.

* Maintain ERP system for accuracy which includes supplier re-commit dates.

* Maintains a 90%+ OTD on assigned commodities and purchase requisition purchases.

* Responsible for handling discrepant material concerns at incoming receiving.

* Handle any invoicing issues in a timely manner as to not delay payment.

EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

* Must have 3-4 years of purchasing experience in manufacturing and production environment, preferably in machine shop industry.

* Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the machine shop industry. ŸDemonstrated ability to work well with diverse workforce. Excellent verbal and written communication skill. ŸStrong computer skills.

* Attention to detail is a must.

* Ability to quick paced and ever-changing environment.
