POSITION CONCEPT
The Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst will provide short- and long-term forecasting, budgeting, and reporting for Tampa Electric. Responds to frequent requests from Tampa Electric Senior Leadership and Emera for ad hoc analysis and reports. Will develop analytical skills, work with the team and Finance leadership, assisting with assignments of increasing complexity.

*PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
- Short-term forecasting: Prepares the short-term forecast for Tampa Electric Company and TECO Energy, including the annual budget and current year financial forecasts, includes forecasted income statement, balance sheet, and cash flows, in addition to supporting the preparation of current year forecast packages provided to Tampa Electric Company Officers. Collaborate with the Tampa Electric Company Business Planning, Capital Planning, Accounting, and Tax teams and other impacted constituents for the accurate and timely completion of the short-term forecasts.
- Prepare analysis of forecasted financial information and expected financial relationships, including key income statement and balance sheet trends in support of management's understanding of key assumptions used in the forecasts. Assist in the preparation of presentations outlining the key assumptions for use in management decision making.
- Ad hoc analysis: Prepare ad hoc financial analysis, including but not limited to, budget to actual, year-over-year variances, changes in forecast assumptions, financial and non-financial trends, and peer comparisons.
- Prepares documentation of the analysis performed in a manner consistent with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
- Project Financial Analysis: Assist in the preparation of financial analysis of projects proposed to the CLT, projects proposed as part of strategic analysis and the completion of the company's long-term forecast and ad hoc projects such as acquisitions or asset investment/ownership opportunities.
- Long-term forecasting: Assist the long-term forecasting process for Tampa Electric Company and TECO Energy, including assisting in the preparation of the annual 5-year financial forecast. Responsible for assisting in the preparation of forecasted income statement, balance sheet, cash flows, ROE, and customer rates, including all forecast packages provided to Emera. Analyzes key assumptions in the multi-year forecast, including support of variance analysis. Collaborate with the Tampa Electric Company Business Planning, Capital Planning, Accounting, and Tax teams and other impacted constituents for the accurate and timely completion of the long-term forecasts.
