Job Description
We are looking to hire an experienced
Science instructor
to provide instruction in science-related subjects ranging from Elementary School Science to High School AP Level Science. Your role is to provide instruction, create lesson plans, facilitate classroom discussions, evaluate student performance, and promote a positive learning environment. You will teach various science disciplines such as Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Develop and implement engaging and comprehensive lesson plans
  • Demonstrate adaptability in teaching both one-on-one and in small group settings.
  • Assess students' progress through regular evaluations, including tests, assignments, and participation and provide constructive feedback to the students
  • Communicate regularly with Masterprep Admin and Staff on student progress
  • Prepare students for their AP Exams
  • Provide homework help as needed
  • Prepare students for science competitions

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science or related field from an accredited college or university (required)
  • Master's degree in Science or related field from an accredited college or university (preferred)
  • 2 years' experience as a Science instructor or tutor (required)
  • Knowledgeable with AP Science (Bio, Chem, and/or Physics) content and tests
  • Science competition knowledge (preferred)
  • Professional communication skills (both spoken and written)
  • Proven experience assisting students with essay review
  • Competent in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Able to work independently and collaborate with a team
  • Enthusiastic about working with students and parents
  • Able to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented (attention to detail and accuracy are imperative)
  • Ability to meet schedules and deadlines
  • Good judgment and decision-making abilities
  • Good problem-solving skills

Possible shifts are between M-F 3pm - 8pm and Saturday 9am - 5pm
