Position Description

Our team is expanding and we're looking for a Mechanical Design Project Manager to join our Facility Engineering Services Team in Belmont, Michigan. The ideal candidate will lead innovative building systems projects from concept through completion. This role blends deep technical expertise in mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering with the leadership skills to manage projects, mentor teams, and foster strong client relationships. What You'll Do:

  • Lead complex projects from concept through completion. Guiding strategy, schedule, budget, and execution.
  • Be the client's trusted advisor, building strong partnerships that go beyond a single project.
  • Mentor and empower talented engineers, creating an environment of collaboration and growth.
  • Drive the design of mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems that balance performance, efficiency, and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to bring integrated, innovative designs to life.

What qualifies you?

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology (required)
  • Willingness to commute or relocate near our offices in Belmont, MI or Royal Oak, MI.
  • 7+ years' experience in mechanical building systems design with a strong background in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
  • 3+ years' experience in project management including managing multiple projects, teams, and client relationships in an engineering environment.
  • PE License (preferred)
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and design software.
