Organizes , directs and supervises the Newburgh Housing Authority's facilities and programs. Administers the programs priorities by formulating policies, and providing sound leadership and management.

  • Manages public housing developments
  • Manages waiting list and application process
  • Arranges leases, rentals and tenant activity programs
  • Rents apartments to incoming tenants
  • Reviews tenants' incomes to ascertain their rental payments.
  • Handles socioeconomic problems among tenants.
  • Inspects grounds and buildings for damage and extermination problems.
  • Makes written reports of findings from inspections
  • Refers tenants to social agencies.
  • Orients new tenants.
  • supervises the collection of rents.
  • Maintains resident files in compliance with HUD guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business administration, Social Services or other related fields or an associate degree from a NYS accredited college and three years' experience related to management or administration in a real estate or a governmental organization.

Graduation from high school or the possession of a high school equivalency diploma and four years related experience.

Permanent hire is subject to passing Civil Service examination.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40, $57,000.00 per year
