Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently operating forklifts and other heavy equipment to facilitate the movement of materials within our distribution center. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations and safety protocols, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with team members to ensure timely shipping and receiving of goods.

Duties

  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and clamp trucks to load and unload materials safely.
  • Perform order picking using RF scanners and ensure accurate inventory management.
  • Assist in shipping and receiving processes, verifying that all shipments are complete and undamaged.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any mechanical issues.
  • Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency.
  • Engage in heavy lifting tasks as required, ensuring proper materials handling techniques are followed.
  • Support the training of new employees on warehouse management systems and equipment operation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in warehouse distribution or similar environments.
  • Certification in forklift operation is preferred; experience with cranes is a plus.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Familiarity with order picking processes and shipping & receiving protocols.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and operate various types of heavy equipment safely.
  • Previous experience in warehouse management or supervisory roles is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of safety standards, including OSHA regulations, is essential.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour
