Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pet Groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and grooming, with the ability to provide high-quality grooming services in a friendly and professional environment. This role involves working closely with pets and their owners to ensure every animal looks and feels their best while maintaining safety and comfort throughout the grooming process.

Duties

  • Perform pet grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and brushing for dogs and other small animals
  • Handle animals gently and effectively using proper restraint techniques to ensure safety for both pets and staff
  • Assess each pet's coat, skin, and overall health to determine appropriate grooming procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness of grooming tools, equipment, and work area to adhere to hygiene standards
  • Communicate with pet owners regarding grooming preferences, special needs, or health concerns
  • Assist with pet handling during grooming sessions, ensuring animals are comfortable and stress-free
  • Provide basic pet care advice to owners on grooming maintenance between visits
  • Support other animal care activities such as kennel cleaning or light pet sitting when needed

Requirements

  • Prior experience in pet grooming or animal handling is preferred
  • Knowledge of dog training, veterinary procedures, or veterinary technician experience is a plus
  • Strong animal handling skills with the ability to manage dogs of various temperaments and sizes
  • Experience with veterinary assistant duties, animal restraint, or kennel work is advantageous
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary (e.g., lifting pets or equipment)
  • Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners
  • Familiarity with pet care practices including pet sitting and general animal care responsibilities
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and compassion for animals
  • Certification in pet grooming or related fields is desirable but not required
