We are looking for an exceptional Data Analyst that can play a key role in automating the monitoring and analysis of the safety performance of the Aurora Driver. In this role, you will

  • Work with our safety and engineering teams to provide data tools and insights to continually improve the safety of the Aurora Driver
  • Partner closely with those stakeholders to design and implement metrics and dashboards to help them measure, understand, and improve their safety performance
  • Collaborate with a team of world-class Data Scientists and Analysts on Data Science & Analytics problems spanning multiple subsystems (eg. Vehicle Platforms, Hardware Systems, Fault Management System, and Autonomy)
  • Collaborate with our Data Science & Analytics and Engineering communities to ensure the adoption of best practices and suggest improvements

Required Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience as a Data Analyst, Data Scientist, or similar technical role.
  • Proven experience taking Data Analytics projects end-to-end, from synthesizing business needs to building and maintaining data pipelines.
  • Advanced proficiency with relational databases (SQL, PostgreSQL, etc.) and knowledge of Data Engineering best practices.
  • Intermediate knowledge of data analytics infrastructure, including experience with data transformation tools like DBT and various visualization frameworks/tools.
  • Competency in Python, demonstrated by the ability to write readable, maintainable, and easily interpretable code.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a highly cross-functional, fast-moving, and high-stakes environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to translate and cascade executive input into actionable, data-driven technical analysis for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MS) in Statistics, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related quantitative field
  • Experience using Amazon Web Services (AWS) tools
  • Experience using data-modeling business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Looker, etc.
  • Experience presenting your work to Executive teams & interfacing with Safety teams
  • Experience in the Autonomous Vehicles or other safety-critical systems industries

The base salary range for this position is $139-$190 per year. Aurora's pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
