Position Description
The Technical Manager will manage technical support to all North Dakota and Montana natural gas operations facilities to ensure the safe and efficient operations of all equipment and systems. The Manager will direct the development and implementation of technical support and personnel functions for the technical group which includes measurement and mechanical maintenance groups, safety and environmental protection programs, governmental compliance, employee development and training, and budgeting within the natural gas field operations division.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage the overall technical support for engine, gas compressor, fluid pump, and all other rotating equipment mechanical maintenance, as well as gas and liquids measurement within the geographic region.
  • Manage the preventative maintenance program, and overhauls for 165 natural gas compressor units (Waukesha, Arial, Cat, Ajax).
  • Manage operations of 3000 natural gas meter locations, gas and liquids chromatographs, composite samplers, H2O and H2S analyzers.
  • Monitor and refine programs, procedures and equipment to ensure a safe environment exists for employees, customers and the public.
  • Review and recommend technological advancements for field operations.
  • Coordinate/participate in the design and construction of new facilities and replacement or repair of existing facilities with various team leaders.
  • Set the objectives for the preparation of the operating and capital budgets for area of responsibility within that division and review the status of the budgets.
  • Identify, report and correct safety and environmental concerns.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Technical

  • Basic computer skills (knowledge of MS Office, operating systems, company software, technical systems).
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in technical field preferred.
  • Technical supervisory experience in midstream mechanical maintenance, natural gas, and liquids measurement, or both.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong technical knowledge in field of expertise.
  • Experience training and instructing employees.
  • Math skills (necessary to do budgeting and engineering calculations).
  • Valid driver's license and driving record acceptable to the company and its insurer.
  • Must have permanent residence in the Williston Basin.
