Receiving Associate

Position Summary: The Receiving Associate at Great Neck Tools plays a key role in ensuring all incoming tools, materials, and merchandise are accurately received, inspected, and prepared for inventory. This position supports smooth warehouse operations by maintaining organization, accuracy, and efficiency in the receiving department.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Receive, unload, and process incoming shipments of tools, hardware, and materials.
  • Receiving includes processing inbound containers, commercial POs, and returns.
  • Verify deliveries by checking packing slips, purchase orders, and product labels for accuracy.
  • Inspect items for damage or defects and report discrepancies to the Receiving Lead or Supervisor.
  • Accurately log received products into inventory systems or complete required documentation.
  • Organize and stage products for stocking or transfer to other departments.
  • Maintain an orderly and safe receiving area, adhering to Great Neck Tools safety guidelines.
  • Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, or other warehouse equipment as needed (if trained/certified).
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve shipment issues or inventory discrepancies.
  • Assist with regular cycle counts and inventory audits.
  • Support warehouse team operations as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience in receiving, warehouse, or inventory environments is a plus.
  • Ability to lift and move merchandise (typically 25–50 lbs).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic computer and scanner skills; familiarity with inventory systems is helpful.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $19.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
