We are seeking an onsite Program Quality Engineer (PQE) to serve within the Advanced Technology Team. You'll develop and monitor quality metrics to drive proactive continuous improvement initiatives, working closely with integrated teams to further the success of the program. In the program quality role, you will support development, production and hardware sell-off. You will primarily engage our labs, factories and suppliers that aid the Advanced Technology portfolio, implement quality processes to meet program milestones. You will be directly involved with design verification tests, qualification efforts, demonstration tests, flight test events, and engage with Raytheon Suppliers.

The ideal candidate will have a dynamic mindset and the ability to influence peers and offer creative results to complex problems that arise during development. The candidate will collaborate closely with all cross-functional teams including systems, electrical, mechanical, operations, supply chain, and systems integration and test to guarantee that mission goals and contractual requirements have been met. 

This program will face challenges consistent with new product development requiring the candidate to continuously practice leadership, organizational skills, assess risks and opportunities, and ensure challenges are efficiently managed. The programs which the candidate will support, have a very dynamic accelerated schedule and a strong customer engagement requisition, which will require moderate travel to support various program activities.

This position is an onsite role in Tucson, Arizona.

What You will Do:

  • Serve as a member of the Program team, ensuring successful program performance, deliver conforming products/services through effective collaboration and compliance to processes and procedures.

  • Lead integration and implementation of cross-functional teams to ensure alignment to quality and customer requirements per the program quality plan.

  • Serve as a program quality liaison across customer organizations (Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and United States Government (USG)), as well as relevant factories and engineering labs as first responder for quality issues and concerns related to production products.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and partner with program stakeholders to define and implement quality improvement strategies.

  • Review and approve changes to the technical data package, assign actions when necessary and complete actions in a timely manner when assigned. This includes but is not limited to:  Peer reviews, Engineering Review/Change Control Board (ERB/CCB) and/or Design reviews.

  • Engage on both strategic and tactical levels, focusing on quality, cost and schedule performance, early engagement, influencing and providing differentiating quality value to program teams and customers.

  • Monitor / lead root cause corrective action (RCCA) and FRACAS activities for systemic issues and to ensure extensive RCCA.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of five (5) years of prior relevant experience.

  • Working experience in supporting design and/or manufacturing process

  • Working experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems.

  • Working experience in failure and root cause analysis, corrective and preventative action.

  • Experience in a relevant technical discipline with working experience in engineering concepts and design analysis techniques

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Value:

  • Experience in APQP methods (including FMEA, Control Plan, FAI/AS9102, SPC) with demonstrated ability to mentor cross-functional team

  • Experience interpreting and ensuring compliance to TDP requirements and QMS requirements

  • Experience working in a dynamic environment, requiring prioritization and flexibility to support conflicting requirements

  • Experience with AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 quality management systems

  • Demonstrated experience in RCCA and Continuous Improvement projects

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
