Position Summary

The Assisted Living Director is responsible for the overall operation, compliance, and leadership of the assisted living services at The Alton. This role ensures compliance with Minnesota Statute 144G, oversees resident care and services, leads staff, and partners with families and community stakeholders to maintain exceptional quality outcomes.

The ideal candidate is an experienced, licensed leader who is organized, compassionate, and confident managing both clinical coordination and operational oversight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of assisted living services
  • Ensure full compliance with MN 144G regulations and MDH survey readiness
  • Oversee resident assessments, service plans, and care coordination
  • Supervise, mentor, and support department managers and direct care staff
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels and compliance with training requirements
  • Financial stewardship, focusing on meeting budget expectations
  • Billing management- invoicing, revenue collection
  • EW (Elderly Waiver) and CADI support for residents and families
  • Respond to resident and family concerns in a timely and professional manner
  • Participate in QAPI, safety meetings, and incident review processes
  • Collaborate with the Regional Director and corporate leadership on operations and quality improvement
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records required for regulatory compliance

Qualifications

Required:

  • Current Minnesota Assisted Living Director license (LALD)
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of leadership experience in assisted living, senior housing, or healthcare
  • Strong knowledge of MN Assisted Living (144G) regulations
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage operations
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Preferred:

  • Experience successfully leading MDH surveys
  • Dementia care experience or endorsement
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, nursing, or related field
