Salary Range:
$100k - $140k/annum plus benefits

Job Description:

We're seeking an experienced
Power Systems Applications Engineer
to lead the development, customization, and delivery of
Energy Management Systems (EMS)
and related
SCADA
and
Network Transmission
applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting real-time, mission-critical environments within the electric power or energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver advanced Power Systems Application software for real-time and mission-critical operations.
• Collaborate with Electric Utilities, ISOs, and TSOs to define functional software specifications and ensure successful system integration.
• Perform coding, testing, and application tuning to meet project and product delivery requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues, ensuring high reliability and performance.
• Manage installation of system patches, updates, and third-party software integrations.
• Configure and maintain systems using tools like
  GitHub
  and
  ClearCase
  .

Required Technical Skills

• 5+ years of experience in
  Energy Management Systems (EMS)
  development and delivery for electric power utilities.
• Strong knowledge of
  Electric SCADA
  ,
  Power DMS
  , and
  Transmission EMS
  implementations.
• Proficiency in
  C, Java, and SQL/Oracle
  databases.
• Solid understanding of
  Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
  using
  C++
  ,
  Full Stack Java
  , or related languages.
• Experience with
  AEMS product design and development
  .
• Hands-on experience with
  Linux
  and
  Windows
  operating systems.
• Skilled in
  SQL
  ,
  shell scripting
  , log interpretation, and debugging.
• Strong system configuration and troubleshooting expertise.
• Demonstrated experience maintaining and upgrading live customer systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in customizing and implementing
  Network or Transmission Applications
  (e.g., Load Flow, State Estimator, AGC, OPF, Contingency Analysis, etc.).
• Familiarity with
  major EMS/DMS/SCADA platforms
  such as Siemens, OSI, ABB, or Schneider.
• Experience with
  data modeling
  and power system simulation tools.
