Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. This role reports to the Controller and offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, supporting a prestigious Fort Worth based non-profit organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting expertise, comprehensive knowledge of financial reporting standards and proficiency with accounting software, preferably Sage.

Duties

  • Prepare and analyze complex financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP, IFRS, and other regulatory standards
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to ensure accuracy of financial data
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing and cash management
  • Conduct general ledger accounting activities, including journal entries, month-end close procedures, and account reconciliations
  • Support internal controls and assist with external audits
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
  • Prepare regulatory filings and support compliance reporting for governmental agencies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and ensure accurate financial management across departments
  • Additional accounting related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred
  • Experience in a non-profit accounting environment preferred
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and non-profit accounting principles
  • Proven expertise in cash management, account reconciliation (including general ledger reconciliation), and account analysis
  • Proficiency with accounting software, preferably Sage 300
  • Excellent understanding of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, regulatory reporting requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to perform financial analysis and prepare detailed financial reports with clarity and accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration across teams and stakeholders
