Description

The Project Manager will assist in planning, organizing, and executing all aspects of the project cycle from post-sale to

customer handover with the goal of ensuring all projects are delivered on time according to requirements and

without exceeding budget.

Key Responsibilities

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Organizes and oversees the work and schedules of facility staff.
  • Manages discipline and termination of assigned employees as needed and in accordance with company

policy.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Leads an interdepartmental team to complete an assigned project on time, to specifications, and

with accuracy and efficiency.

  • Manage tracing of issues that may arise, such as missed deadlines, cost overruns, and scope creep
  • Addresses questions, concerns, and/or complaints throughout the project
  • Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements.
  • During times of high bid volume, assisting with estimating from start to finish
  • Reviewing material submittals and shop drawings
  • Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities.
  • Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) from start to finish with

attention to budgetary limitations.

  • Regularly attend project site meetings
  • Negotiates and resolves Change Order Requests and RFQ proposals on behalf of the Areas
  • Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports.
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management

principles.

  • Familiarity with quality, health, and safety standards.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders involved in the construction

process

  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines as business needs demand

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in the utility industry ( highly preferred)
  • Experience working directly with General Contractors, internal and external clients, and vendors
  • Willingness/ability to travel regularly to job sites (required)
  • Valid US driver's license (Class- C)
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple competing projects
  • Working proficiency in MS Office Suite

Mental Demands/ Physical Demands/ Environmental Factors :

  • Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including personal computer and peripherals
  • Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, reaching, and twisting
  • Motion: Repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding, and use of mouse; occasional reaching
  • Lifting: Occasional lifting and carrying (75+ pounds)
  • Environment: Regular regional travel or statewide travel with potential exposure to extreme hot and

cold temperatures, dust, noise, vibration, and chemical and electrical hazards

  • Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions, sudden shifting priorities, and ability to

maintain emotional control under stress.
