Role Summary

As a
UI/UX Designer at Ripplet
, you'll be responsible for designing intuitive, engaging, and visually cohesive experiences for our mobile app. Success in this role means translating user needs and product ideas into thoughtful designs that help students easily discover and connect with others. You'll work closely with engineers and fellow designers to bring concepts from wireframes to polished, user-ready interfaces.

This position is
UNPAID
, but it offers hands-on experience designing a real product from the ground up, the opportunity to grow your design skills, and the chance to be part of a student-led startup launching right here at UCI.

Responsibilities

  • Design user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity UI for mobile experiences
  • Create intuitive, accessible, and visually consistent designs
  • Collaborate closely with engineers to ensure accurate implementation of designs
  • Iterate on designs based on feedback from teammates and early users
  • Contribute to and maintain a cohesive design system
  • Participate in product discussions, feature planning, and design reviews
  • Conduct basic user research or usability testing as needed

Qualifications

  • Must be a current UCI student with a valid email
  • Experience with UI/UX design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or similar
  • Basic understanding of user-centered design principles and mobile UX patterns
  • Ability to clearly communicate design decisions and receive feedback
  • Strong attention to detail and visual consistency
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and take ownership of design features
  • Passion for designing products that help people connect and build community
