Job Overview

We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our dynamic dealership team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers seeking vehicle maintenance and repair services, ensuring a seamless experience from initial consultation to service completion. This role requires excellent communication skills, automotive knowledge, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service. Prior dealership experience and familiarity with auto service management are highly valued. The Service Advisor will coordinate with technicians, manage service writing, and assist in upselling appropriate services to meet customer needs while maintaining high standards of integrity and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers promptly and professionally, establishing rapport and understanding their vehicle concerns.
  • Explain recommended repairs and maintenance services clearly, utilizing automotive diagnostics and repair knowledge.
  • Prepare accurate auto estimates for repairs such as oil changes, brake repairs, transmission work, suspension, tire service, diesel engine repair, shocks & struts, alignment, air brake systems, auto body repair, and other automotive services.
  • Upsell additional services when appropriate to enhance vehicle performance and safety.
  • Coordinate with service technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of work.
  • Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, vehicle history, and service orders using dealership management software.
  • Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments efficiently.
  • Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and promote repeat business.
  • Stay informed about the latest automotive repair techniques, tools, and industry standards to provide expert advice.

Skills

  • Proven dealership experience with auto service management or related roles preferred.
  • Strong automotive diagnostics skills combined with mechanical knowledge across various systems including transmissions, oil changes, auto body repair, suspension, alignment, tire service, diesel engines, shocks & struts, brake systems, and air brakes.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
  • Ability to upsell services effectively while maintaining integrity and trust.
  • Experience in auto estimating, service writing, automotive repair sales, and automobile sales is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with mechanic work or service technician experience is a plus for understanding technical aspects of repairs.
  • Proficiency in cash handling and dealership management software tools.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple customer accounts simultaneously.
