Position Summary

The Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support to ensure smooth patient care and efficient office operations. The MA works closely with providers, nurses, and front desk staff to maintain high-quality patient experiences while adhering to practice protocols and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Duties:

  • Room patients, record vital signs, and obtain medical history
  • Assist providers with procedures and exams as needed
  • Administer injections, perform EKGs, and other clinical tasks within scope of practice
  • Collect specimens for lab testing and prepare them for submission
  • Ensure accurate documentation in the EMR, including medications, allergies, and test results
  • Educate patients on treatments, medications, and follow-up instructions
  • Maintain cleanliness and infection control standards in clinical areas

Administrative Duties:

  • Greet and check in patients, verify insurance, and update records
  • Schedule appointments and follow-up visits
  • Answer phone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and route messages to appropriate staff
  • Assist with billing and coding tasks as assigned
  • Maintain organized patient files, charts, and office supplies

Compliance & Safety:

  • Adhere to HIPAA privacy regulations
  • Follow OSHA and infection control protocols
  • Report safety or compliance issues promptly

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant certification preferred
  • 1+ year clinical experience in outpatient care preferred
  • Knowledge of EMR systems and office procedures
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment

Preferred Skills

  • EKG experience
  • Experience with telehealth platforms
  • Spravato experience

Working Conditions

  • Standing, walking, and occasional lifting throughout the workday
  • Interaction with patients of all ages
  • Exposure to bodily fluids, medical instruments, and clinical equipment

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $ $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 32 per week
