Phoenix, Arizona, United States RNWBL Full time

About RNWBL

RNWBL is a fast-growing, private-equity-backed renewable-energy services provider supporting utility-scale solar, wind, storage, and grid-modernization projects across North America. We deliver EPC, O&M, installation, and field-service solutions that enable the energy transition. As the company scales, we are investing in continuous improvement to improve quality, reduce cost, and streamline field and office operations.

About the role

The Lean Manager is responsible for designing, leading, and executing a continuous-improvement strategy across the company's field operations, back-office processes, supply chain, and project delivery workflows. This role will apply Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and operational-excellence tools to eliminate waste, reduce variability, and ensure the company delivers renewable-energy services safely, efficiently, and profitably. This is a high-visibility role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, scaling environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lean / CI Program Leadership

  • Develop and implement a company-wide Lean roadmap tailored to renewable-energy services (field operations, project execution, O&M, engineering, procurement, logistics)
  • Train, coach, and mentor employees and field leaders on Lean principles, tools, and behaviors
  • Establish a culture of continuous improvement across all levels of the organization

Process Improvement & Optimization

  • Conduct value-stream mapping (VSM) of critical workflows (project mobilization, resource management, QA/QC, cost tracking, procurement, etc.)
  • Identify opportunities to reduce cost, increase productivity, and accelerate project timelines
  • Implement standardized work, visual management, 5S and error-proofing

Field Operations Support

  • Partner with project managers, field supervisors, and field crews to optimize site layouts, material flow, labor utilization, and equipment deployment
  • Reduce downtime, rework, and bottlenecks on solar/wind/storage job sites
  • Lead performance-tracking and weekly/monthly "bowler" rollouts

Quality & Data Analytics

  • Collaborate with QA/QC to improve defect-prevention, inspection processes, and feedback loops
  • Use data (KPIs, dashboards, field reports) to identify trends and prioritize improvement initiatives
  • Drive root-cause analysis (RCA) using 5-Whys, fishbone diagrams, etc.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with operations, engineering, procurement, HSE, finance, and IT teams
  • Support standardization of tools, templates, and systems to support scalable growth
  • Ensure Lean initiatives align with business objectives and management expectations

Key Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to influence without authority and drive change in the field
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and training skills
  • Practical, hands-on orientation — comfortable on job sites and in the office
  • Continuous-improvement mindset with high criticality and a bias for action

Success Measures (KPIs)

  • Reduction in project cycle time and labor hours per unit
  • Improvement in quality metrics (defects, rework, punch-list items)
  • Cost savings achieved through Lean initiatives
  • Adoption rate of Lean tools, standardized work, and training participation
  • Increased productivity and project throughput as measured by company KPIs

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in Lean, continuous improvement, operations excellence, or process engineering
  • Hands-on experience applying Lean tools in operational or industrial environments
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver measurable results

Preferred

  • Experience in renewable energy (solar, wind, storage), utility services, EPC, or construction
  • Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt)
  • Experience working in a high-growth, private-equity-backed or field-services environment
  • Knowledge of PMO practices, project controls, and field-execution workflows
Benefits
  • Medical, Dental, Vision
