Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as an Accounts Receivable Clerk, where you'll play a crucial role in managing financial transactions and ensuring the smooth flow of revenue. You will be responsible for processing incoming payments, maintaining accurate records, and providing exceptional customer service to our clients. Your expertise in accounting software and financial concepts will be key to optimizing our accounts receivable processes and supporting our overall financial health.
What you'll do
- Process and post incoming payments accurately and efficiently using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft.
- Manage accounts receivable by performing account reconciliations and maintaining detailed records of transactions.
- Collaborate with clients to resolve billing discrepancies and negotiate payment terms effectively.
- Conduct thorough analysis of accounts to ensure timely collections and minimize outstanding balances.
- Utilize your knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance in all financial reporting activities.
- Handle medical collections with a keen understanding of CPT coding, ICD-10, and medical terminology when necessary.
- Maintain effective communication with internal teams regarding revenue cycle management and accounts payable processes.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries promptly and professionally.
Basic qualifications
- Proficiency in data entry with strong 10-key typing skills for efficient transaction processing.
- Solid understanding of double entry bookkeeping principles and financial concepts.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in public accounting or corporate accounting environments is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with financial software tools and systems used in governmental or non-profit accounting.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform account analysis and credit analysis effectively.
- Excellent phone etiquette combined with strong negotiation skills to facilitate collections.
