JANUS Research Group is currently seeking an Army Robotics SSO for a contract to support the Deputy Chief of Staff (DCS, G8. The DCS G-8 is the principal military advisor to the Chief of Staff, Army (CSA) and the Assistant Secretary of the Army, Financial Management and Comptroller (ASA(FMC)) for the Programming phase of the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process. The DCS, G-8 coordinates with the Assistant Secretary of the Army, Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology (ASA(ALT)) on all proposed programming and process recommendations related to ongoing and future acquisition programs and science and technology initiatives. The DCS, G-8 coordinates with Army Futures Command (AFC) for program funding for all elements of the future force materiel modernization enterprise.

Position Description: Manages Army robotics programs within the Human-Machine Integration portfolio, including robotic combat vehicles, sUAS, and autonomous ground systems. Provides analysis and recommendations on capability development, integration, and lifecycle sustainment. Develops information papers, briefings, and SPAR/POM inputs addressing affordability, risk, and modernization priorities. Coordinates with ASA(ALT), T2COM, and ARSTAF to align robotic systems with Army autonomy and modernization strategies.

Relevant Competencies / Skill Levels:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and/or Business
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience and expertise in Force Development duties;
  • Demonstrates expert analytical and technical skills in robotic and autonomous systems, including unmanned ground and aerial platforms. Proficient in evaluating system performance, autonomy levels, payload integration, and lifecycle sustainment to support modernization and fielding priorities. Possesses advanced analytical and communication abilities to produce clear, data-driven assessments that enhance robotic capability development and operational effectiveness.
