Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to support our educators in creating a positive and engaging learning environment for students. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, particularly in early childhood education settings, and will be committed to fostering the academic and social development of a child with special needs. This role involves assisting with lesson planning, classroom management, and providing individualized support to enhance student learning experiences.

Duties

  • Assist lead teachers in implementing lesson plans and educational activities
  • Support students in literacy and math education through one-on-one or small group instruction
  • Help manage classroom behavior and promote a positive learning atmosphere
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop curriculum tailored to the needs of the assigned child
  • Provide care and supervision for all children during classroom activities.
  • Engage with students to encourage participation and enthusiasm for learning
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment conducive to learning
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other staff regarding student progress and needs
  • Assist in the preparation of instructional materials and resources for lessons

Experience

  • Background in early childhood education or a related field is preferred
  • Experience working with children, particularly in daycare or private school settings
  • Familiarity with special education practices, including working with individuals on the autism spectrum or those with disabilities
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management strategies
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Previous classroom experience is highly desirable, including familiarity with Montessori methods or literacy programs
