Sr. Project Manager (Contractor)

Location: Richmond, VA (100% On-Site)

Employment Type: 6-Month Contract

Hours: Full-Time / 40 hrs per week

About the Role

Client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager (Contractor) to lead multiple concurrent projects from initiation through closeout. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, monitoring, and delivering strategic projects that align with mission to expand access to quality, affordable housing across the state. The Sr. PM will work closely with executive sponsors and cross-functional teams, ensuring timely delivery within scope, budget, and compliance guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multiple projects through full lifecycle (initiation → planning → execution → closing)
  • Develop project plans, schedules, and resource strategies
  • Coordinate internal and external stakeholders, including vendors and executive sponsors
  • Facilitate requirements gathering, documentation, risk management, and status reporting
  • Monitor project progress and adjust plans to meet scope, schedule, and financial objectives
  • Manage construction-related vendors, contracts, and deliverables
  • Apply both Waterfall and Agile methodologies as appropriate
  • Provide regular status updates to leadership and secure ongoing direction from Executives
  • Ensure alignment with business goals and enterprise portfolio management standards

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience
  • 3–5+ years of advanced Project Management experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
  • Experience with both Waterfall and Agile frameworks
  • Experience managing construction-related vendors and contracts
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Client-facing and customer-oriented project experience

Preferred:

  • Master's degree
  • PMP, PgMP, Agile, or similar certifications
