About the Role

We are seeking a Senior SAP S/4HANA Service & Warranty Functional Lead to support a long-term engagement with a leading client in the automotive and manufacturing sector.

This role focuses on after-sales and post-sale service management processes within SAP S/4HANA, including service notifications, service orders, warranty handling, and integration with SD/MM/FI/CO.

The ideal candidate will serve as the functional owner for the Service and Warranty stream — working directly with business stakeholders and reviewing system integrator (SI) designs to ensure operational alignment and process efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the functional lead for SAP S/4HANA Service and Warranty Management.
  • Partner with client business users and system integrators to design and validate end-to-end after-sales service processes.
  • Ensure seamless integration between Service Management and SD/MM/FI/CO modules.
  • Lead workshops and design reviews for:
  • Service notifications and orders
  • Warranty entitlement and claims management
  • Service contracts and maintenance plans
  • Installed base, equipment master, and serial tracking
  • Ensure correct financial and billing flows from service execution to claim recovery.
  • Provide solution recommendations and validate proposed system configurations.
  • Support testing, issue resolution, and process stabilization post go-live.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of SAP experience, with at least 3+ years in SAP S/4HANA Service Management or SAP CS (Customer Service).
  • Proven experience in Warranty Management, Service Orders, Service Contracts, and After-Sales Operations.
  • Strong understanding of integration with SD (Billing), MM (Spare Parts), FI/CO (Costing & Recovery).
  • Background in Automotive, Manufacturing, or Industrial Equipment industries preferred.
  • Ability to engage with both business and technical teams, challenging designs where necessary.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills — must be comfortable acting as process owner.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with field service execution or service technician workflows.
  • Exposure to Installed Base Management (IB) and Equipment Serialization.
  • Prior work with automotive or heavy machinery OEMs is highly desirable.
  • Located in or willing to travel to the Bay Area, CA for an initial onsite engagement (approx. 1 month).

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $ $85.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
