We're seeking a dependable Maintenance Technician with strong HVAC skills to help us continue delivering a top-tier living experience at our Decatur location.

Your Role

As a key member of our maintenance team, you'll keep the property's mechanical systems running efficiently while addressing resident concerns with professionalism and care. This position focuses on HVAC maintenance and repair but also supports general property upkeep and apartment turnovers.

What You'll Do

  • Diagnose, service, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on HVAC units, including filter replacements, coil cleaning, and thermostat inspections.
  • Handle routine repairs in plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance as needed.
  • Support unit make-readies by assisting with painting, minor carpentry, and appliance upkeep.
  • Respond quickly to service requests and document all maintenance activities accurately.
  • Follow EPA and safety standards for refrigerant management and workplace safety.
  • Take part in the property's rotating on-call schedule for emergency maintenance.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience maintaining or repairing HVAC systems in multifamily or residential environments.
  • EPA Section 608 certification (Type II or Universal).
  • A valid driver's license and dependable transportation.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
  • Great communication and customer service abilities.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in tight or elevated spaces.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of an HVAC trade or technical program.
  • Georgia Conditioned Air Contractor license (or in progress).
  • Familiarity with building automation systems, appliance repair, and plumbing.
  • OSHA 10 or equivalent safety training.

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday (day shift)
  • Rotating evening and weekend on-call coverage
