Senior Transportation Analyst

Location: Onsite – Inno-Pak at Delaware, Ohio

Reports To: Interim Enterprise Transportation Director

Role Summary

The Senior Transportation Analyst plays a lead role in identifying, prioritizing, and driving transportation savings initiatives during and after the rollout of the Managed Transportation Services (MTS) model, supporting the Interim Enterprise Transportation Director's overall ownership of savings outcomes.

This is a project-heavy leadership role responsible for driving execution, maintaining strong analytical discipline, and serving as the primary internal counterbalance to the MTS provider to ensure results are achieved and sustained.

Key Responsibilities

Savings Identification, Execution & Accountability Identify, size, and prioritize transportation savings opportunities across outbound and inter-DC freight

• Translate opportunities into clear execution plans, including actions, owners, timelines, and expected savings
• Actively drive execution of savings initiatives in partnership with internal teams and the MTS provider
• Support delivery of budgeted outbound and inter-DC freight savings
• Validate execution and ensure modeled savings are realized, identifying and correcting leakage
• Report savings progress, risks, and recommended corrective actions to leadership

MTS Provider Leadership

• Serve as the primary interface with the Managed Transportation Services provider; partner with the provider to drive and influence behavior across each business unit

• Assist the Interim Enterprise Transportation Director in holding the provider accountable for:

o Execution of agreed-upon actions

o Adherence to contracted rates, lanes, and service expectations

o Delivery of committed savings

• Partner with the provider on assumptions, analytics, and reported results to ensure clarity, accuracy, and maximum value

Project & Team Leadership

• Lead and drive transportation projects tied to cost reduction, service improvement, and execution discipline
• Prioritize and sequence projects based on financial impact and operational readiness
• Direct and review work performed by Transportation Analysts supporting project and savings initiatives
• Escalate risks, delays, or underperformance with recommended course corrections
• Embed a continuous improvement mindset, identifying, elevating, and driving ongoing opportunities to improve cost, service, and execution

Analytics & Leadership Reporting

• Lead development and maintenance of advanced reporting and dashboards, including:
• Cost per case by lane, node, and mode
• Outbound and transfer cost drivers
• Service vs. cost trade-off analysis
• Support a consistent, enterprise view of transportation performance and savings

Pricing, Customer Profitability & Governance Support

• Provide fact-based transportation cost visibility to Sales, Pricing, and Finance teams to support:
• Customer pricing and repricing decisions
• Margin and cost-per-case (CPC) analysis
• Transportation and DC assignment decisions
• Develop and maintain standardized views of transportation cost drivers by customer, lane, and fulfillment/service model
• Support pricing governance by ensuring transportation cost inputs are consistent, transparent, and aligned across Operations, Finance, and Commercial teams
• Evaluate transportation cost trade-offs (service level, fulfillment location, frequency) and communicate implications to support informed commercial decisions
• Partner cross-functionally to ensure transportation assumptions used in pricing and customer profitability analysis reflect actual execution and network realities
• Provide interpretation and guidance to Sales, Pricing, and Finance leadership on transportation cost drivers, CPC trends, and fulfillment strategy trade-offs

Cross-Business & Travel Support

• Support transportation initiatives across multiple business units (Handgards, Inno-Pak, Fineline) and future acquisitions
• Travel up to 10% to support DC operations, service providers, and project execution

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Analytics, or related field
• 3–5 years of experience in transportation or supply chain analytics
• Strong understanding of outbound and inter-DC transportation cost structures
• Advanced Excel and analytical modeling skills
• Proven ability to lead projects and drive execution

· Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, Customer Service, and Sales Operations to drive aligned, end-to-end outcomes

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting managed transportation models or TMS implementations
• Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or similar tools
• Experience supporting cost-reduction or savings initiatives
