An internship with American Family Insurance is a great opportunity to build your skillset and explore your career interests. Our summer student internship is a 10 to 14 week program that starts in mid to late May and ends in August. During your internship, you'll work on impactful projects that make a difference at our company, with our customers, and in our communities. You'll also gain exposure to different areas of our business and have numerous opportunities for networking and coaching.

Interns may be eligible for a one-time hiring bonus to assist with housing costs depending upon proximity to an AmFam office location.

Compensation Minimum: $25.00
Compensation Maximum: $39.00

As a Communication & Collaboration Technologies intern, you will work with Lead Engineers to manage, set up, and integrate a variety of workplace tools and systems, including Microsoft Teams, Polytech, fax, phone, and Zoom. You will help troubleshoot technical issues and ensure seamless operation of both in-person and digital collaboration technologies. This role offers hands-on experience supporting and optimizing workplace technology solutions at AmFam.

Responsibilities

• Develop an understanding of our business, corporate culture and structure to support your work.

• Contribute creative ideas and strategic approaches in response to changing situations.

• Investigate issues and recommend solutions for Business Workplace Solutions (BWS) users

• Setup and refresh technology onsite and remotely

• Additional responsibilities and projects as business demands change

Requirements

• Must be in student status at an accredited 4-year college or university during the internship, graduating August 2026 or later.

• Must be pursuing a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD.

• Major/program must align with internship role. Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or Project Management focus preferred.

• Experience in customer service and/or IT help desk

• Experience resolving issues and making recommendations

• Strong teamwork and communication skills

• Self-starter, motivated to learn new technology

• Knowledge of general IT and networking a plus

• Knowledge of MS Teams, Zoom or ServiceNow preferred but not required

Work Location:
This role will be a Full-Time in Office work arrangement. Work locations for this role include Madison, WI.Additional Information
