Position Overview:

The Accounting Clerk provides essential support to the dealership's Business Office by processing vehicle deals, contract funding, accounts payable/receivable, inventory, and related accounting functions. This role also supports front-of-house operations by assisting with reception and cashiering duties, ensuring a warm welcome for every guest and accurate payment processing. You'll partner closely with the Title & Billing team and multiple departments to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in all transactions. The starting pay for this position is $ per hour, based on accounting experience and qualifications.

What You'll Do:

Accounting & Business Office Support

  • Post daily contract funding, including deal and reserve adjustments
  • Process product cancellations (e.g., GAP refunds, customer refunds, accounting entries)
  • Bill wholesale purchases and issues customer checks
  • Support with account payables, receivables, inventory records, and reconciliations
  • Assist with title processing and deal documentation review
  • Reconcile aftermarket vendor schedules and submit payments
  • Support with lender funding to ensure timely payment

Reception & Cashier Support

  • Greet customers and vendors in a friendly, professional manner — in person and over the phone
  • Process customer payments for service, parts, and vehicle purchases accurately and efficiently
  • Balance the daily cash drawer and reconcile transactions
  • Direct guests to the appropriate department and support general administrative functions
  • Maintain an organized and welcoming front desk/reception area

Who You Are:

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and meeting deadlines
  • Organized and proactive, able to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a professional communicator with strong customer service skills
  • Tech-savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Motivated to learn and expand skills across accounting and dealership operations

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of accounting experience
  • One year of formal accounting education/training (required)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel required)
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen for illegal substances
  • Authorized to work in the United States
