Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) – Day Shift (Wed–Fri, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM)

Location: Laguna Beach, CA

Job Type: Part-Time (3 days per week, 12-hour shifts)

Position Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our multidisciplinary team at a leading Substance Use Disorder (SUD) detox and residential treatment facility in Laguna Beach, CA. The LVN will provide direct client care, manage detox protocols, administer medications, and support clients through all phases of withdrawal and early recovery with professionalism, empathy, and clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to clients in detox and residential treatment settings.
  • Conduct client assessments, monitor vital signs, and document withdrawal symptoms accurately.
  • Administer medications safely and according to facility policies and physician orders.
  • Collaborate with physicians, clinical leadership, and behavioral health staff regarding treatment plans and client progress.
  • Respond promptly to medical or behavioral emergencies and implement appropriate interventions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR system, ensuring compliance with Joint Commission, DHCS, and HIPAA standards.
  • Participate in shift change reports and maintain clear communication with other clinical staff.
  • Uphold infection control procedures and promote safety and cleanliness in all clinical areas.
  • Provide health education and recovery support to clients to promote stability and wellness.

Qualifications:

  • Current California LVN License in good standing (required).
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in detox, behavioral health, or substance abuse treatment preferred.
  • Knowledge of withdrawal management, detox protocols, and medication-assisted treatment (MAT).
  • Familiarity with HIPAA, Title 22, and DHCS regulations.
  • Proficient in EMR systems and clinical documentation.
  • Strong interpersonal, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
  • CPR/BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.

Schedule:

  • Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday – 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
