HF Sinclair is seeking a Cloud Engineer anywhere in the US, preferably in Dallas who has deep Azure expertise and strong hybrid infrastructure experience to join our Digital Platforms and Connectivity team. This role is pivotal in driving our cloud-first strategy while ensuring seamless integration with critical on-premises systems that support enterprise operations.

You will collaborate across teams to design, implement, and optimize cloud and hybrid solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals, security standards, and operational excellence.

Job Duties
  • Design, deploy, and manage Azure-based infrastructure and services.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Bicep.
  • Collaborate with application, security, and operations teams to support cloud-native and hybrid workloads.
  • Support and integrate on-premises technologies including Infoblox (IPAM/DNS/DHCP), VMware, Rubrik, Active Directory, etc.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
  • Ensure security, compliance, and governance across cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Monitor performance and optimize cost of cloud resources.
  • Participate in cloud architecture reviews and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintain documentation and operational runbooks for hybrid infrastructure components.
  • Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.
Experience

A minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience with a minimum of 3 of those hands-on with Azure.

Education Level

A minimum bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) is required.

Required Skills
  • Experience managing and integrating Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS/DHCP services.
  • Familiarity with Infoblox or similar IPAM/DNS/DHCP platforms.
  • Strong understanding of Azure services including VMs, App Services, Azure Functions, AKS, Storage, Networking, and Identity.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or other CI/CD tools.
  • Knowledge of cloud security principles and governance frameworks.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility
None. Work Conditions
Office based with travel up to 30% by land and air required. Petroleum refinery, warehouse/plant environment, out-of-doors environment, and drive based environment including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks, rotating equipment, working in confined spaces, and exposure to the risk of electrical shock. Subject to all temperatures, weather, and varying road conditions. Occasionally required to work long hours which may include nights, weekends, holidays for regularly scheduled maintenance and emergency work and support as well as on-call availability. Benefits
