| WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Slate Auto is looking for a Propulsion Quality Engineer with extensive experience in HV Batteries, Electric Drive Units (EDU) and Electrical Systems to join our growing team. This involves a deep understanding of the design, manufacturing and Launch of these systems. Candidates with certifications in Six Sigma will be given preference. 

| WHAT YOU GET TO DO

  • Develop strategy and implement robust quality management processes ensuring that our products meet customer and regulatory requirements. 

  • Build strong relationships with teams across product development, manufacturing, and supplier quality to define, integrate, and optimize quality standards into the final product for our valued customers. 

  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to resolve process and product quality issues. 

  • Manage detection and prevention systems for Special Characteristics to ensure compliance with performance and safety standards. 

  • Identify and mitigate risk through application of FMEAs (Design and Process), DVPs, and Control Plans. 

  • Effective use of Data Analytics to identify (Pareto) opportunities and drive problem solving. 

  • Support the planning, execution and evaluation of product test drives within quality 

  • Execute quality approvals of functions and systems as appropriate and planned. 

  • Support market analysis activities, quality studies and benchmarking activities as required.

| WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

The role will be expected to have high integrity, curiosity, resourcefulness and strive to exhibit a positive and growth mindset. You will feel comfortable operating in a start-up, flexible and fast-paced environment with a collaborative approach to achieving goals  

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Automotive, Systems, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace etc.

  • 10+ years of experience in Automotive Quality / Engineering / Mechanical Systems, with at least 3 years direct experience with HV Batteries, EDUs / Electrical systems. 

  • Certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt with a proven track record of delivering successful projects. Master Blackbelt (DMAIC / IDDOV) and/or Shainin certification. 

  • Working knowledge of Lean Principles. Preferably Lean Manufacturing trained.  

  • Proficient in the use of commonly applied quality tools and processes in the automotive industry (e.g. IATF 169494, AIAG, VDA, APQP, PPAP). Certified Auditor preferred.  

  • Excellent working knowledge of DVP&R's, FMEA's and Control Plans.  

  • Highest level of integrity and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
