Medical Assistant

Required Qualifications:
- Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program or a minimum of two years of experience as a Military Corpsman or Medical Assistant Certification
- BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year of previous MA experience
- Diabetes & Endocrinology experience
This is a benefited, full time position generally working Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. No weekends or holidays. Shift times may vary as needed. Located at Scripps Anderson Medical Pavilion in La Jolla.

What you'll do\:
- Seeking compassionate and motivated individual who thrives in a supportive and collaborative environment, demonstrating a strong commitment to patient care and teamwork.
- Assist in preparing for in-office procedures such as biopsies and Ultrasounds by setting up necessary equipment.
- Download blood sugar data from CGMs and blood glucose meters.
- Manage the scheduling of patient appointments, coordinating with both patients and providers to optimize clinic flow.
- Assist with managing clinic flow, scheduling patient follow-up appointments, communicating referral information, and discharge instructions.
- You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to our patients, working closely with experienced professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment
Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician's practice including:
- Assisting in preparing patients for examination/procedures
- Assisting physicians with procedures
- Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person
- Collecting patient data in person and by phone
- Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review
- Administering medications specifically directed by the physician
- Performing vital sign documentation
- Scheduling of appointments and procedures
- Complete and accurate message taking
- Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction
- Order and referral entry
- Acquisition of pre-certifications
- Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics.
