Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience and will assist the Executive Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food preparation and presentation, and maintaining food safety standards. This role is essential in delivering an exceptional dining experience in our fine dining restaurant and catering services. You may apply in person.

Duties

  • Assist in the planning and execution of menu items, ensuring creativity and quality in food preparation.
  • Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training on food handling and safety practices.
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, including inventory management, food preparation, and plating.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the culinary department.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop new recipes and improve existing ones.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, adhering to food safety standards.
  • Assist in catering events as needed, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality dishes.
  • Monitor food stock levels and assist in ordering supplies as necessary.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
  • Experience in food preparation within a restaurant or catering environment.
  • Proficiency in culinary techniques with a focus on fine dining standards.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork within the kitchen staff.
  • Previous experience as a dietary aide or within a dietary department is a plus.
  • Passion for culinary arts with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
