The Program combines classroom work, technical school training, community service, physical training, and team-building activities to enhance the life-skills and employability potential of these youth. Additional major elements of the program are: career skills, healthy living, drug abuse awareness, leadership/followership, discipline, physical fitness, practical job skills training and character development. This program is a 24-hour per day, 7-day per week operation.Job Summary: The Sooner Job Challenge Program is seeking dedicated and motivated applicants to guide and mentor Associates aged 16 to 20 years old. As a Residential Advisor, you will play a vital role in supporting the program's mission to instill discipline, leadership, and responsibility in young adults. The ideal candidate will lead by example, provide positive reinforcement and help Associates reach their personal, professional and academic goals. Shift work is required and shifts could vary depending on program needs.Essential Functions:Under administrative supervision monitors and supervises 35 to 45 youth (ages in the Oklahoma Job ChalleNGe Program (Sooner Job Challenge Program)Maintains accountability of assigned platoon at all timesMaintains discipline, security, and safety within a quasi-military atmosphereDevelops a team-oriented attitude within the AssociatesMentor/role model for those assigned cadets during the residential phase of the programConducts first line counseling and problem solving for those assigned Associates and is the primary instructor in Drill and Ceremony and group living skillsDirects and participates in physical trainingProvides transportation and supervision for Associates attending vocational trainingMaintains supporting documentation and evaluations for those assigned AssociatesThis job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
