Part-Time Experienced Veterinary Technician/Receptionist

We are seeking an experienced cross trained veterinary technician/receptionist that will be to join our small animal hospital (dogs, cats, and rabbits only). This position will fill both technician and receptionist shifts. We are a busy, full service, 2 doctor veterinary hospital close to Safety Harbor. We have apart-time position available. (part-time is considered 10-28 hours/week.) The ideal candidate is a "people person", outgoing, detail-oriented, highly organized, and must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while still maintaining enthusiasm (this job can at times be stressful but we also have fun). We have two Cardell anesthetic monitoring machines, digital radiographs, dental digital radiographs, ultrasound, CT machine and an in-house laboratory. Technician role option may include surgery technician and/or room technician as well as filling in receptionist shifts. Wage may vary pending experience.

• Strives to please clients and shows empathy in all interactions.
• Has a calm, cool demeanor when handling difficult/stressed pets.
• Doesn't get flustered when difficult situations with clients or pets arise.
• Is ok with plans having to be changed/rearranged throughout the day. We almost never have a slow day. We often see emergencies during the day which can throw off our day.
• Doesn't mind staying later than their scheduled shift to help pets in need, complete call backs, and finish up medical records.
• Does not participate in negativity but rather is great at cheering up and helping others when they are stressed.
• Is not easily offended or overly sensitive, even with co-workers that are more direct in their interactions. Understands that co-workers joke with each other and does not take jokes personally. Understands that we are all friends here and light bickering occurs amongst workplace friends. (Workplace harassment will never be tolerated and has never occurred at our facility.)
• Physical abilities required for this position include the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 40 pounds.
• Must be able to work most Saturdays as a regular shift (we are closed Sundays).
