Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring they receive the care and attention necessary for their well-being. The ideal candidate will have experience in various healthcare settings, including Level II Trauma Centers, PICUs, and outpatient facilities.
Duties
- Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Support clients with mobility and transfers to ensure safety and comfort.
- Monitor and document client health status, reporting any changes to the healthcare team.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the client's mental well-being.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding as needed.
- Help clients with medication reminders and adherence to prescribed care plans.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by adhering to hygiene standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals in various settings including inpatient care, geriatrics, emergency medicine, and hospital medicine.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with healthcare environments such as teaching hospitals or outpatient clinics is advantageous.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology related to care practices in settings like OR (Operating Room) or PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit).
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality care.
- Ability to work flexible hours based on client needs.
