Staff Accountant at Western Filament, Inc.

Western Filament is looking for a knowledgeable Staff Accountant to join our team. We have an immediate full-time position open that offers a unique opportunity for professional growth within our company. We offer a flexible schedule with the option to either work 4 10-hour shifts or 5 8-hour shifts each week.

This position reports to the VP of Finance and assists with a variety of accounting tasks, account reconciliation, and financial analysis as well as develop creative solutions to challenges and focus on continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong attention to detail, organized, and analytical.

Our focus is to produce high-quality products using synthetic fibers which are targeted for the Motor Manufacturing, Automotive, Aerospace, Medical, and Recreational markets. Nearly 95% of the appliances in operation today use our products and our aerospace products fly around the world and are exploring space. We are also a leading manufacturer of high-performance braided fishing lines.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • AP - vouching and check/ach/wire payment processing
  • AR - post daily sales invoices and check/ACH/Wire payments
  • Prepare customer statements
  • Prepare and Post journal entries
  • Perform account reconciliations
  • Assist with new hire onboarding and benefit administration
  • Maintain financial digital and physical files

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • 3-5 years relevant accounting experience
  • Working knowledge of GAAP
  • 1 year Cost Accounting preferred
  • Strong financial analysis skills
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
  • Experienced with accounting software, ERP and/or QuickBooks preferred
  • Efficient typing skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision while still being productive and accurate.
