Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dental team in various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Experience with EMR systems, particularly Eaglesoft and Dentrix, is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques.
  • Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety standards.
  • Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant medical documentation accurately.
  • Manage patient flow and ensure a positive experience for all patients in the clinic.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medical coding as necessary.
  • Utilize dental software systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for scheduling appointments and managing patient information.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive care in areas such as general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and more.

Experience

  • Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic is preferred.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems, particularly Eaglesoft or Dentrix is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical documentation is essential.
  • Experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus but not mandatory.
