You will be part of the team that pushes boundaries, innovates, and executes world-class interiors that excels in all critical attributes of an Interior System. You will utilize your expertise in one or more of these commodities and develop as a full Vehicle Engineer – designing. engineering and delivering systems rather than just components as you work with a lean and agile team of the best Product Engineers in the industry. What You'll Do- Engineer, develop and execute world-class interior systems that exceed styling and functional targets and are compliant to regulatory requirements- Work through the entire product cycle with critical input early in development by collaborating with Tesla's design/styling and Engineering teams- Participate in the iterative process with all stakeholders to deliver the optimal balance of form, function, performance, and cost- Implement processes and material selections to achieve world class execution of automotive interior craftsmanship and fit & finish- Complete and release interior components, sub-system, and detail designs, utilizing a mix of in-house design and supplier engineering where required (in-house designs are planned for most major commodities), complete engineering change request and appropriate documentation (including drawings)- Utilize DFSS methodologies as appropriate during the design, validation and launch of the program- Collaborate with key interior system and plastic component suppliers and support overall vehicle development milestones and prototype/production build events- Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the Tesla Vehicle Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and Procurement groups to ensure interior system manufacturing and assembly feasibility and serviceabilityWhat You'll Bring- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience- Two years of experience in Product Development / Design Engineering, demonstrating technical aptitude from concept through release and launch for production or the equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability- First principles, physics-based thinker, and problem solver able to handle problems of varied scope and complexity.
