Marketing Director

Strategic Leadership

  • Partners with firm leadership to develop and advance STITCH's long-range marketing, with an eye toward connection with the business development strategy.
  • Provides insight and perspective on market trends, target sectors, and positioning to support intentional, values-driven decision making.
  • Works closely to Partners, project teams, and clients to identify opportunities for growth, differentiation, and deeper impact.
  • Leads proposal and interview strategy for RFQs/RFPs, ensuring each pursuit is thoughtful, tailored, and aligned with firm priorities.
  • Works closely with Partners and project leaders to develop win themes, messaging, and presentation narratives.
  • Ensures proposal schedules are met and deliverables are accurate, compelling, and submitted on time.

Brand Stewardship

  • Guides the firm's brand, voice, and visual identity to ensure clarity, consistency, and authenticity across all platforms.
  • Oversees storytelling efforts reflecting STITCH's culture, design approach, and commitment to community and region.
  • Directs the development of marketing collateral, website content, social media, awards submissions, and public relations initiatives.

Team Leadership & Systems

  • Leads, mentors, and supports marketing staff, fostering collaboration, growth, and shared ownership of outcomes.
  • Develops and refines marketing systems, workflows, and tools that bring clarity, consistency, and efficiency to the firm's efforts.
  • Provides marketing and business development training and guidance to staff across the firm.

Market Awareness & Visibility

  • Conducts ongoing market research and competitive analysis to inform strategy and pursuit decisions.
  • Supports public-facing efforts including media outreach, speaking engagements, thought leadership, and community presence.
  • Helps strengthen relationships with clients, collaborators, and industry partners through intentional communication and follow-up.
  • Performs other related duties assigned by the Partners.
  • Represents STITCH at professional, civic, and community events, reinforcing the firm's presence and values in the region.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • 8+ years
    of progressive marketing experience, preferably within architecture, interior design, or professional services.
  • Demonstrated experience leading marketing strategy, brand development, and proposal efforts.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office 365; experience with CRM and pursuit-tracking systems preferred.
  • Exceptional written, graphic, and verbal communication skills with a strong eye for clarity and craft.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Proven leadership style grounded in collaboration, accountability, and follow-through.
  • Ability to think strategically while remaining hands-on and execution focused.
  • Valid driver's license.

    The Marketing Director will primarily work in an office environment. There may be an occasional requirement to work on a remote job site. The work hours for this position are predominantly during regular business hours, but may vary as the schedule must accommodate the needs of the project.
