We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking General Helper to support our installation teams in the South Bend area.

Position Overview

The General Helper plays a critical role in supporting installation crews by assisting with jobsite preparation, material handling, and cleanup. This position requires strong attention to detail, a dependable work ethic, and the ability to work effectively in various outdoor conditions. Candidates should have 3 to 5 years of experience in general labor, construction, or a related field.

Key Responsibilities

· Assist installation teams with loading and unloading tools, materials, and equipment.

· Prepare job sites by removing debris, setting up work areas, and ensuring all necessary tools and supplies are readily accessible.

· Support window, siding, and door installation processes by carrying materials, holding components in place, and performing basic tasks under the direction of the lead installer.

· Safely operate common hand tools and power tools as needed.

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.

· Assist with measuring, cutting, lifting, and positioning materials during installation.

· Communicate effectively with installers and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and project completion.

· Follow all safety guidelines, including proper use of PPE and adherence to OSHA standards.

· Provide general labor support as needed, including cleanup at the end of each job site.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

· Work is performed primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind.

· Frequent lifting of 50–75 pounds is required throughout the day.

· Must be comfortable standing, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and moving materials for extended periods.

· Ability to safely navigate uneven surfaces and active construction sites.

Qualifications

· 3 to 5 years of experience in general labor, construction, or related hands-on field.

· Knowledge of basic hand tools and power tools.

· Ability to take direction well and work as part of a team.

· Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.

· Valid driver's license and dependable transportation.

· Willingness to work outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions.

· Strong communication skills and a positive, professional attitude.
