At TI, System Engineers work to identify ideal roadmap opportunities for a business and are responsible for defining new products and platforms based on market opportunity. To do this, they leverage strong technical knowledge of our existing portfolio, deep understanding of the technologies, standards and protocols within an industry or end equipment, and an ability to engage with customers and translate their requirements into technical specifications that will solve their problems. Systems engineers also partner closely with marketing and applications engineers, as well as design teams, to ensure our roadmap is both meeting customer and market requirements and is technically optimized and manufacturable at a price and cost point that makes sense for the business.

The Custom Power Products product line is delivering industry leading power system solutions including Battery Chargers, PMICs, Camera Flash LED drivers etc. As a Systems Engineer, you will directly contribute to the development of cutting-edge power management solutions for TI's customers. Creative, innovative, detail-oriented engineers with strong team and customer interaction skills will find this to be an interesting and rewarding opportunity.

In this System Engineer role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Influence new product definition and development for custom power solutions
  • Identify good, strategic & high-quality projects that meet our project investment objectives
  • Conduct competitive benchmarking, market trend analysis and tracking latest research in the domain of innovative power management architecture and circuits
  • Interface and lead discussions with the customer and/or TI field sales/field applications teams to understand customer needs, designs, problems and support as required
  • Collaborate with other teams in TI to identify future IP, process and package needs
  • Support silicon system evaluation, debug and related documentation
  • Create technical literature such as datasheets, application notes, SCMs etc.
  • Contribute to the short and long term product strategy and roadmap

Qualifications
Minimum requirements:

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years' experience in DC-DC power supply definition, design and/or validation
  • Strong customer facing skills
  • Familiarity with lab equipment, bench validation and datasheet development
  • Experience with system level circuit modeling and simulation tools (e.g. SPICE, Matlab, SIMPLIS etc) required
  • Experience promoting/marketing ICs and driving design wins by providing system solutions is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exceptional creative intuition for power electronics topologies and systems
  • Understanding of mixed signal integrated systems and circuit design for power management applications
  • Analysis of design tradeoffs, system optimization, cost/power/performance analysis
  • Ability to establish strong relationships with key stakeholders critical to success, both internally and externally
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to quickly ramp on new systems and processes
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with multiple cross functional teams to make the right trade-offs on system level performance
  • Ability to take the initiative and drive for results
  • Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery

Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. Your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. The base pay range for this role is shown below.

Pay Range: $155,000 - $268,500 per year
