Description
Pratt Institute is seeking a dynamic and organized professional to join the Admissions team as a Communications Coordinator. Reporting to the Associate Director for Admissions Communications, the Communications Coordinator will play a pivotal role in managing a team of student digital ambassadors. Student digital ambassadors primarily create social media content for the Pratt Institute TikTok and Instagram, though they also provide campus tours and thus jointly report to the Associate Director of Visitor Services. This entry-level position will primarily focus on student management and mentorship, social media, and supporting the Admissions Communications team with various communications projects.
Examples of Duties
- Hire and train a team of student digital ambassadors on office policies, program expectations, and Pratt brand guidelines
- Manage student digital ambassadors, in coordination with the Associate Director of Visitor Services
- Collaborate with the Pratt central marketing team on creation of video, photo, and social assets to ensure all student projects meet brand guidelines
- Collaborate with other departments on campus to create content highlighting the student experience (for example: academics, athletics and residence halls)
- Create and manage content calendar, ensuring student projects stay on schedule
- Manage TikTok account through Sprout Social, in coordination with the Pratt central marketing team
- Consult and coordinate with the Pratt central marketing team for Admissions content needs on other social media platforms
- Analyze data to inform content strategy
- Update Pratt profiles on several third-party recruitment websites
- Assist Admissions Communications team with occasional email design, segmentation, execution, and testing of email campaigns
- Occasionally support admissions events and activities such as pre-tour information sessions, daily tours, admitted student weekend, etc.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree. Fields of digital marketing, communications, or related field preferred.Experience: 1 year of experience in social media or digital media
Knowledge/Skills:
- Experience in digital media editing tools like CapCut, Premiere Pro, Adobe Suite.
- Proven ability to develop and execute successful social media or video content creation, and analyze and report on results
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to create compelling content
- Excellent verbal communications skills to clearly and effectively communicate with student workers, including providing guidance, feedback, and support
- Experience in mentoring, training, and developing others to excel in their roles and contribute positively to the team
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
