Position Summary

The HVAC Installation Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of HVAC installation operations. This role ensures that all installations are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The Installation Manager provides leadership and guidance to installation teams, manages performance and productivity metrics, ensures compliance with company standards and local regulations, and drives continuous improvement across all installation activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Leadership and Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate HVAC installation teams to achieve performance, quality, and productivity goals.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and high morale.
  • Identify and address skill gaps through regular feedback, coaching, and ongoing training initiatives.
  • Conduct weekly training sessions to enhance technical knowledge and installation best practices.

2. Operational Oversight

  • Assign daily installation projects based on team skill sets, efficiency, and workload capacity.
  • Review, track, and approve installer payout requests in accordance with job profitability and scope.
  • Provide timely feedback to the Operations Manager on job-related oversights and to the Operations and Sales Managers on load sheet inaccuracies.
  • Address and resolve payout discrepancies or unrealistic requests in coordination with the Operations Manager.
  • Monitor and report on production efficiency, performance standards, and overall job progress.

3. Quality Assurance and Compliance

  • Conduct quality control inspections to verify that installations meet company and manufacturer standards.
  • Track and manage permit failures, Net Promoter Scores (NPS), and service calls related to installation deficiencies.
  • Determine whether permit failures are company-related or installer-related and ensure corrective actions are taken.
  • Promote and enforce adherence to company safety policies and applicable building codes.

4. Logistics and Inventory Management

  • Collaborate with the Warehouse and Purchasing teams to coordinate parts, materials, and equipment for upcoming installations.
  • Oversee the staging of installations and monitor the inventory of change-out parts and materials.
  • Manage truck stock and ensure inventory accuracy for all installation teams.
  • Track and approve paid time off (PTO) requests and maintain accurate records of PTO usage among installation staff.

5. Recruitment and Contractor Management

  • Actively recruit and onboard qualified HVAC installation technicians and Variable Capacity Contractors (VCCs).
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and vendor partners to support operational capacity.

6. Communication and Coordination

  • Collaborate with Sales Managers and Home Comfort Advisors (HCAs) to ensure seamless communication regarding past, current, and upcoming installations.
  • Coordinate with the Change-Out (C/O) Coordinator on job packets, returns, scheduling, and permit re-inspections.
  • Provide ongoing support to installation crews to resolve on-site issues and logistical challenges.

7. Meetings and Reporting

  • Lead weekly installation team meetings every Thursday at 7:30 AM.
  • Review safety topics, permit inspection outcomes, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Present technical training on new products, equipment, and installation procedures.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on team performance, production efficiency, and quality metrics.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of HVAC installation experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, installation standards, and building codes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple teams and projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in interpreting work orders, permits, and performance data.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with a focus on results.

Work Environment

This position requires both office and field work. The Installation Manager must be able to visit job sites, monitor installations, and interact directly with installation crews, customers, and other departments.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
