Overview

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic bartender to join our team here at Mala Pata. The ideal candidate will have a passion for agave spirits and exceptional customer service skills, with experience in fine dining or elevated dining settings. This role requires attention to detail, proficiency in TOAST, as well as strong time management abilities to ensure efficient service during busy shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including cocktails, wines, and non-alcoholic drinks, while adhering to food safety standards.
  • Manage the bar area efficiently, ensuring cleanliness and organization at all times.
  • Utilize TOAST for order entry and payment processing.
  • Provide excellent customer service by engaging with patrons, taking orders accurately, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate food service for guests at the bar or during events.
  • Maintain knowledge of menu items, including ingredients and preparation methods, to assist guests with recommendations.
  • Handle cash transactions responsibly and accurately, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
  • Assist in inventory management by tracking stock levels and reporting any shortages to management.
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance skills in brewing techniques, cocktail preparation, and food handling practices.

Qualifications

  • Previous bartending experience in a restaurant or cocktail bar setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with TOAST is a plus.
  • Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during peak hours.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for guests.
  • Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and sales transactions.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices is essential.
  • Experience in catering or banquet services is advantageous but not required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
