Network Engineer (L2/L3) – MSP | Orange County, CA | $90k–$100k + bonus

If you thrive in the MSP world—juggling Cisco CLI, Ubiquiti heatmaps, VLAN design, and on-site cutovers and you want more impact, cleaner process, and a path to senior/lead, this will speak to you. You'll build and support networks for diverse clients, own compliance-driven projects (HIPAA/CMMC), and see your work go live fast. What you'll do

  • Design, deploy, and support LAN/WAN/WLAN/VPN across multi-site client environments (Cisco + Ubiquiti).
  • Segment networks (VLANs/ACLs/QoS), optimize traffic, and implement HA where it matters.
  • Perform wireless site surveys; build Ubiquiti heatmaps and tune coverage/reliability.
  • Own escalations (L2/L3), root-cause tricky multi-vendor issues, and document fixes.
  • Lead clean, standards-based low-voltage installs (Cat6/Cat6a/fiber), rack/label/test to TIA/EIA.
  • Harden environments with EDR/XDR (Fortinet/Meraki/SentinelOne), access controls, and monitoring.
  • Partner with Security/Ops on vulnerability remediation and incident response.
  • Keep tickets/time/changes tight in PSA/RMM; communicate clearly with clients and mentor juniors.

Must-haves (non-negotiable)

  • MSP experience (required).
    If you haven't worked in an MSP/MSSP, this isn't the right fit.
  • Local to Orange County, CA.
    Able to visit client sites across OC/LA as needed.
  • U.S. citizen
    (required due to specific client contracts).
  • 5+ years hands-on networking with
    Cisco + Ubiquiti
    (routing/switching, VPNs, WLAN).
  • Confident with
    Cisco CLI
    , VLANs/ACLs/QoS, wireless surveys/troubleshooting.
  • Solid low-voltage skills (Cat6/Cat6a/fiber install, termination, testing, documentation).
  • Familiar with
    compliance
    environments (HIPAA/CMMC) and change control.
  • Strong communicator; can work independently in the field and keep stakeholders in the loop.
  • CCNA (or higher), Ubiquiti UEWA/UBWA (or equivalent).
  • Exposure to regulated industries (healthcare/manufacturing/government).
  • SIEM/logging, EDR/XDR (Fortinet, Meraki, SentinelOne), PSA/RMM (Autotask/ConnectWise/N-able/Kaseya).

Compensation & details

  • Salary:
    $90,000–$100,000
    base + bonus (exempt).
