Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and the ability to assist veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to pets. This role requires a blend of technical skills, attention to medical detail, excellent communication skills between clients and staff, and a commitment to ensuring the well-being of animals in our care.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, dentals and other medical procedures.
  • Perform routine laboratory tests, including ear cytologies and drawing blood .
  • Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Review and present estimates to clients
  • Provide nursing care for hospitalized animals post- operatively.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient including weight and TPRs.
  • Prepare animals for surgery by performing tasks such as catheterization and anesthesia monitoring.
  • Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic or hospital environment.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a similar role within a veterinary setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of common veterinary procedures is essential.
  • Strong skills in dog handling and overall animal care are required.
  • Ability to perform laboratory tests accurately and efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with pet owners compassionately.
  • A valid certification or degree in Veterinary Technology is preferred
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development in veterinary practices.
