Job Summary:
The Outsource Buyer is a second-level buyer, responsible for the procurement and project management of all outsource services (capability & capacity buys) to ensure quality outputs and cost-effective pricing, while meeting Nahan delivery requirements. The Outsource Buyer serves as the liaison between internal Nahan teams and vendor partners to ensure successful execution of outsource projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
:
- Identify and develop vendor partner relationships. Evaluate services to determine the most desirable suppliers to maintain in Nahan's partner network.
- Request quotes, analyze and negotiate pricing to place the outsource work with the partner offering the best solution.
- Manage the entire life cycle of the project outside, ensuring deadlines and project deliverables are being met.
- Work with internal and external teams to navigate project needs and troubleshoot when issues arise.
- Work with the production team and vendor partners when product quality complaints occur to ensure swift and acceptable resolutions.
- Maintain accurate PO pricing to avoid billing discrepancies.
- Coordinate with Scheduling and Warehouse Logistics to ensure purchased goods are available when needed.
- Manage a large portfolio of client projects across numerous vendor partners while working in a fast-paced work environment.
- Aggressively seek out opportunities for company and self-improvement. Bring forward opportunities for improvement as well as ideas for solutions.
- Follow all Nahan Safety and Quality policies and procedures.
- Follow all 6S initiatives as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities Required:
- Excellent written, verbal and listening skills, with proven negotiation skills.
- Strong time management skills and ability to organize and maintain a large volume of information while providing clear instructions to others.
- Proven ability to analyze problems, develop alternatives, make recommendations, and implement solutions.
- Strong attention to detail and project management skills.
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
- Proficiency in the English language, verbally and written.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree and/or five (5) years related purchasing or project management experience, required.
- Background in Printing or Direct Mail Industry and prior knowledge of manufacturing processes relating to Purchasing functions strongly preferred.

This job operates in a hybrid office environment with exposure to a Manufacturing environment on occasion. While performing the duties of this job inside and outside the manufacturing facility/office setting, the employee is frequently exposed to normal to moderate working conditions for a hybrid office and manufacturing facility with a noise level that is usually quiet - moderate with minimal to some interruptions. The role routinely uses office equipment, software and hardware.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, type, write and be exposed to regular meetings, both virtually and in person. The employee may be required to stand/sit for long periods of time as well as use hands or fingers to reach or handle, and to reach with hands and arms. The employee is sometimes required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee will regularly lift 25lbs or more at a time. All vision abilities are required to encompass close-up work. Employees must be able to tolerate and endure extended seasonal hours and maintain alertness to meet deadlines.
Occasionally while performing duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to machinery and moving parts, airborne particles including paper dust and hazardous materials or fumes, which may require the use of PPE. The employee may be exposed to adverse weather conditions, extended seasonal hours, high precarious places, and confined spaces. The nose level in some of the work environments may require the use of hearing protection.
