Construction Cost Estimator

Job Overview

The successful candidate will have proven cost experience. The general job duties will include but not be limited to preparing conceptual & detailed estimates, negotiating change orders, developing budgets and reviewing invoices. Proficiency with vertical, electrical, utilities and civil trades is highly desirable.

Duties

  • Develop Conceptual and Detail cost estimates
  • Analyze Change Request from Contractors
  • Negotiate Change Request with contractors
  • Provide basis for cost estimates
  • Capable of researching costs and systems
  • Document record of negotiation
  • Experienced in vertical and horizontal construction projects
  • Knowledge of Airport cost estimate preferred

Requirements

  • 20+ years of general estimating experience directly related to both engineering and construction projects are required.
  • Experience in estimating projects ranging from $50m to $300m.
  • Previous experience with airports is highly desirable
  • Demonstrates a proactive, firm and respectful approach to estimate reconciliation efforts and change order processing
  • Proved accuracy, reliability and completeness in job accomplishment
  • Detail oriented
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Proven experience in construction estimating or related field, with a strong understanding of construction site operations.
  • Familiarity with construction management principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in using estimating software, particularly Bluebeam and On-Screen Takeoff.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating strong project management capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy in cost estimation and reporting.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, Masters preferred

Pay: $210, $230,000.00 per year
