Rocky Mountain Prep is a growing network of innovative public charter schools, serving students in pre-kindergarten through 12th Grade in the Greater Denver Area. Rocky Mountain Prep opened its first school in 2012 with 130 students and has grown to four schools, working with over 1,800 scholars across two districts. Role Mission
Inspire and engage students in the world of performing arts. This role involves teaching a diverse group of students in areas such as theater, music, dance, and improvisation, fostering creativity and self-expression while developing their skills and confidence.
In this role, you will…
- Design and implement an engaging curriculum that covers various aspects of performing arts, including acting, singing, dancing, and stage production.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and collaboration among students of all skill levels.
- Organize and direct school performances, showcases, and events, providing students with opportunities to demonstrate their talents.
- Assess student progress through regular feedback and evaluations, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs.
- Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate performing arts into the broader school curriculum and events.
- Maintain a safe and organized classroom, ensuring that all materials and equipment are well-maintained.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and upcoming events.
- Stay current with trends in performing arts education and incorporate new techniques and technologies into lessons.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's and/or master's degree (any subject)
- Completion of CDE READ Act training and/or CDE Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD) 45 contact hours
- Pass a background check
- Demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States
- Current Colorado teaching license with relevant grade/ content endorsement ((K-12; 6-8, or
- OR
- An official transcript demonstration a degree (graduate or undergraduate) in secondary education and/or relevant content area
- Minimum two years of lead teaching experience. (We define lead teacher as the primary teacher in the classroom who is responsible for all academic content.)
- Experience with progress monitoring, data collection, and analysis
- Knowledgeable about culturally responsive instruction and critical pedagogical framework
- Demonstrated success working with scholars from historically marginalized communities
This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position with a salary range of $60,000 to $94,800 depending on experience and level of education.
